The Role

The Principal Planner will be a technical specialist in town planning with the ability to asses and respond to referrals and enquiries relating to flood protection, storm water quality, waterway amenity and drainage management. Providing expert guidance and support, the Principal Planner will be the ‘go-to’ person in the team for advice and dealing with complex issues. The Principal Planner will drive team process improvements, developing and improving team governance, standards and processes to ensure quality and consistent services are provided to our customers.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Extensive understanding of development industry issues, across aspects such as town planning, floodplain management, waterway management and drainage issues, including customer service opportunities
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant strategies, policies and guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change to deliver team process improvement initiatives to ensure quality of decisions and communications are maintained and improved
  • Experience in supporting and enabling a high performance and inclusive culture

Your ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is required together with a qualification in Town Planning or relevant experience.
